Palatine's Hostert is Art Teacher of the Year
The Illinois Art Education Association is a professional organization for art educators, individuals, and groups who support art education in Illinois.
Palatine High School art teacher Nicholas Hostert was selected as the IAEA High School Art Educator of the Year for 2009.
According to the IAEA awards committee, this honor recognizes "Mr. Hostert as an exemplary model for his dedication to providing a well-rounded art education to enrich the lives of students" at Palatine High School.
The committee went on to praise his activities outside the classroom, in the district, for IAEA, and his exhibitions of student artwork.
Mr. Hostert was honored by the Board of Education for this milestone achievement at its Jan. 21, 2010, meeting.
