Daffodils give hope:Bright yellow daffodils are on sale through Feb. 19 as part of the American Cancer Society's annual Daffodils Days campaign. Individuals and corporations may purchase daffodils for friends, family and co-workers. The cost is $10 for a bunch of 10 and $15 for a pot of three bulbs. For a suggested minimum donation of $25, a Gift of Hope bouquet of 10 daffodils will be delivered to a cancer patient in a hospital or treatment center. Also available for delivery to children with cancer are limited editions Boyds Bear "Birthdays R. Hope" for $25. The bear arrives with an armful of 10 live daffodil stems. The Gifts of Hope will be delivered March 15-19. The income limit is $50,000 for the service for low-income, elderly and disabled residents. Translation assistance is available for Spanish-speaking taxpayers.
