O'Brien hits 20 as Stevenson wins

Michelle O'Brien led Stevenson's girls basketball team by scoring 20 points to help the Patriots defeat Lake Forest 57-52 in North Suburban Lake Division action Thursday night.

Also scoring in double digits for Stevenson (15-6, 6-4) were Kelsey Simon with 14 points and Katie Batman with 13.

Mary Striedl contributed 15 points for Lake Forest (13-8, 3-5). Caelan Rottman added 13 points, and Claire DiMario contributed 12 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for the Scouts.

Carmel 49, North Chicago 38: Carmel dominated the first half, scoring 31 points compared to 15 by North Chicago and stayed ahead to defeat the Warhawks in nonconference play.

Leading the Corsairs were juniors Erin Quinn and Beth Scudder, who scored 10 points apiece. Sophomores Jaclyn Meier and Sarah McHugh each added nine.

Hinsdale Central 36, Lake Zurich 29: In a Sweet Sixteen tournament game, Audrey Bauer scored 12 points for host Lake Zurich (7-16).
