Maine West tops Maine East
Maine West's boys basketball team hoped Monday's comeback over Rolling Meadows was just the beginning of more winning.
On Friday night, the Warriors (6-11, 1-4) got rolling right from the beginning en route to a 73-62 Central Suburban North victory at Maine East (4-10, 0-5).
Alex Samuelson scored 22 points and Conor Hart scored 20 of his 21 points after halftime for the Warriors. Tommy Ross hit a pair of 3s and scored 8 of his 10 points in the first quarter as they took a 19-9 lead.
Odera Eneogwe and Emmett Turner-Jackson added 8 points apiece as Maine West shot 47.9 percent from the field (23-for-48) to finish with a season-high point total. Nuse Khan scored 22 points to lead Maine East.
