District 211 business staff blankets children with love

When the women in the District 211 business office heard about one particular kindergarten class in the Northwest suburbs that needed a little extra love and attention, they went to great lengths to provide it.

The class - which is not identified here to protect the children's privacy - is taught by the wife of a District 211 administrator, who has spent his own time with them.

Working with the teacher, the women found out a little about each child in the class - what their interests are, their favorite color, etc. Then, they used this information to make each student a blanket and purchase a book, so that the children could snuggle up and read.

When the blankets were done, they were wrapped with a book and ready for delivery.

The ladies took a bus to the school with their presents, and after a lunchtime pizza party, they personally presented each child with their own blanket and book.
