Former Blackhawks' star Chelios charged with DUI in Westmont
Former Chicago Blackhawks star Chris Chelios was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence after being pulled over by Westmont police in the early-morning hours of Monday, Dec. 28, police said.
Christos K. Chelios, 47, of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., was stopped by police at 4:12 a.m. while driving a pickup truck east on Ogden Avenue in the area of Blackhawk Drive, officials said. The Chicago Wolves defenseman was charged with speeding, improper lane usage and DUI, Westmont police said.
Chelios, the only occupant of the vehicle, posted 10 percent of the $3,000 DUI bond and was released from the police station.
The pickup truck was towed from the scene, police said. Chelios has a court date of Feb. 1 in Wheaton.
