Young a wonderful player, and person

I am writing on behalf of the article about Emily Young. I am currently enrolled at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minn. I had the privilege of playing volleyball with junior outside hitter/setter Emily Young.

She is a fantastic player and should be recognized for her accomplishments. I was so blessed to have had the opportunity to play volleyball for a couple years with Emily at Schaumburg High School.

Her presence on the court was overwhelming. She is a constant encourager that lit up the court every time her shoes touched the floor. Her ability to set and spike was incredible. She also is not a person that lets her success go to her head. She continued to be a humble player that played with confidence and determination every game.

I also played with her in the same volleyball club when she was an eighth grader. We both were in Sky High Volleyball in Libertyville. Even as an eighth grader she was a definite threat against our ninth grade team. I distinctively remember playing against her in scrimmages and we had to make adjustments constantly to try to figure out a way to get around her phenomenal volleyball skills.

She is an individual that is awesome on and off the court. Anyone that knows her would agree with me when I say that her kindness and thoughtfulness overflows. She is someone that would say hi and stop you just to ask how you are doing. Her integrity is what everyone should strive for.

Emily Young deserves credit for all the hard work she has put into her volleyball career. I am sure that she will succeed by far as she goes on to play at the University of Southern California. I give her my best wishes and hope that she will go on to bigger and more amazing things.
