Maine West had a successful start in its inaugural Warrior Classic boys basketball Thanksgiving Tournament.
The Warriors finished with a 3-1 record and in second place with a 58-42 victory Saturday night in Des Plaines.
Odera Eneogwe scored 17 points, Alex Samuelson and Conor Hart added 12 points apiece and Emmett Turner-Jackson chipped in 9 points for Maine West.
Tyler Shapiro, James Barrera and Kevin Kortum scored 9 points apiece for Wheeling (2-2).
Maine South won the tournament at 4-0 as Casey Bruce scored 15 points in a 66-38 win over Northside Prep.
Schaumburg wins two: Schaumburg completed a 3-1 finish for first-year coach Matt Walsh in the Rockford Boylan tournament as it beat Rockford Auburn 56-47 and Rockford Jefferson 80-68.
Johnny Kirk led the way offensively with 26 points and four 3-pointers against Jefferson and 17 points and three 3s against Auburn. Declan Geraghty also scored 17 and 11 points in the victories.
Joe Infusino and Richard Barnes had 9 points apiece against Jefferson and Josh Walker scored 9 points against Auburn.
Barrington splits: Barrington finished 2-2 in the Boylan tournament for first-year coach Bryan Tucker as it split its two games Saturday.
Barrington beat Jefferson 61-52 as sophomore John Schneider scored 16 points and Greg Gerrard and Bryan Wegner added 13 apiece. Wegner had 26 points and Ben Bartz added 15 in a 77-64 loss to Auburn.
Leyden 61, Streamwood 44: Mike Woolf scored 32 points and hit five 3s, Eric Palmer added 12 points and Brandon Stinson scored 10 for Leyden in the Wheaton Academy tournament win.
