Towns plan tree lightings:
At least two DuPage towns will light their holiday trees Saturday. In Glendale Heights, residents will gather at 6:30 p.m. at village hall, 300 Civic Center Plaza, to hear musical entertainment and meet with Santa. Roselle residents begin their celebration with Sing Along with Santa at 1 p.m. at the Roselle Public Library, 40 S. Park St. The event also includes holiday stories, songs and the lighting of the village tree.
Aurora police station tours:
Residents may tour Aurora's new police headquarters and branch court from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 5 and from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 6, at 1200 E. Indian Trail. Parking is available in front of the building off Indian Trail and behind the building off Reckinger Road. The public should enter the branch court entrance on the west end of the building. Parties may book train:
The Polar Express train at Blackberry Farm, 100 S. Barnes Road, Aurora, is available for private parties to book during select dates in December. Groups of 75 or more may book a private party from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4, 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 8, 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 10 and 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 11. The fee is $3 per guest for Fox Valley Park District residents, $5 nonresidents. For details, call (630) 892-1550.
