Says recycling at HEHS is a sham

I am a sophomore at Hoffman Estates High School, and a member of Student Council.

It has come to my attention that our school does not recycle anything. So, in spite of having recycling bins throughout the school all the garbage thrown away here goes to the landfill.

It is misleading and irresponsible to make us think District 211 recycles when in fact they do not. It is hypocritical for us to be taught to care for the environment, and then to be "fooled" into thinking we are.

I don't understand why the school puts out recycling bins and then does not recycle. If it is not important to recycle, then why do we pretend to? If you care about the environment, please do what you can to get D211 to consider recycling. Thank you.
