Make plans soon to have breakfast with Santa in District 158

Back by popular demand, the District 158 Education Foundation's "Breakfast with Santa" will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, at Marlowe Middle School. The event, which sold-out last year, will have two seatings this year - one from 8 to 9:30 a.m., and one from 10 to 11:30 a.m. This family event will feature a continental breakfast, a family picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus, crafts, raffles, games and music, all for $5 per person. Last year, they sold out within two weeks, so make sure to get your tickets fast.

They also will have a raffle featuring baskets created by staff members of each of the schools within the district. All of the baskets are valued at more than $100, and will feature fun items the schools are putting together as part of a friendly competition.

Tickets are available now by e-mailing d158foundation@comcast.net, by calling the foundation's hotline at (847) 659-5800, or by stopping by one of the elementary schools in District 158.

Proceeds from the event will go to the foundation, which helps fund programs in the district to enhance education. The foundation also awards scholarships to graduating seniors in District 158 each year. In the past five years, the foundation has awarded more than $100,000 in grants for classroom projects and programs, and more than $65,000 in scholarships. Call to volunteer to help with this event, or to get your tickets.
