Dewey or Don't We:
The Lake Villa District Library is starting a new weekday adult book discussion group. The Dewey or Don't We Book Discussion will meet on the third Wednesday of the month at 10:30 a.m. Library officials say the engaging discussions are geared for everyone who likes to laugh and exchange ideas. Fiction and nonfiction titles will be discussed. Copies of the books will be available at the circulation desk. The next meeting will be Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 10:30 a.m. "Here Lies the Librarian" by Richard Peck, will be featured. For more details, call (847) 356-7711 or visit lvdl.org.
Antioch Little League registration:
Though the first snow hasn't fallen, it's time to think spring. The Antioch Youth Little League has begun online registration for the 2010 season. Visit ayll.com for details on how to sign up. Details about walk-in registration in January can be found on the site. The league is seeking several volunteer positions this year.
Electronics collection:
Vernon Township Highway Department will hold an electronics recycling event from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at 3050 N Main St., Buffalo Grove. All items must be free of any packaging material and operating manuals. Accepted items include: personal computers, monitors, computer drives, keyboards, modems, mainframes, scanners, printers, PDA organizers, cell phones, televisions, stereos, MP3, CD and DVD players, VCR's, cameras, video games, fax machines, shredders, and small household appliances. Items not accepted include: broken glass, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, large household appliances, batteries, electric fixtures, fluorescent light bulbs, compact discs, software disks, tapes, liquid or chemical waste, and packaging materials.
