Roadside equipment stolen in FRG

Fox River Grove police are investigating the theft of $45,000 of construction equipment Thursday morning in the 1000 block of Northwest Highway.

Police said the items, stolen between 10 and 11 a.m., were being used by crews patching Northwest Highway, work that began earlier this month.

According to police, the following items are missing: four air hoses, three drill bits, two air-powered jack hammers, one set of black forks for a Bobcat tractor, one yellow easy drill, one small-bulldozer type bucket and one beige Ingersoll Rand air compressor trailer.

Some items might be labeled with "Acura Inc.", police said.

Police believe the culprit used a truck to cart everything away.

"Something good-sized had to pull the items out of there." said Police Chief Ron Lukasik.

Anyone with any information about the theft should call Fox River Grove Police at (847) 639-2411 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 762-STOP.
