A few more days for 'Faces of War'

Get a closer look at the stories of Geneva veterans at the Geneva History Center's "Faces of War" exhibit. See original photographs, correspondence and artifacts from Geneva men and women from the Black Hawk War to the modern age.

Runs through Friday, Nov. 13, at the Geneva History Center, 113 S. Third St., Geneva. Museum hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. Free admission, but donations will be accepted. (630) 232-4951.

Just a little more Halloween

Halloween is officially over, but if you need a few more spooky chills, there is one more day of the "Sleepy Hollow" production at the Morton Arboretum. Theatre-Hikes revives its hit musical adaptation of Washington Irving's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" about a timid school master who has a terrifying incident with a headless horseman.

Welcome home, Mary!

Meet Lombard native and author Mary Doria Russell as she discusses her youth in Lombard and fields questions from the audience. Doria Russell will also share a preview of her new mystery book, "Eight to Five Against," scheduled for publication in December 2010.
