Outlook First St. Viator has to take care of what it can control on the field to get the fifth win to become playoff eligible in a roller-coaster season of high expectations. "Joe's is much better and we have to jump on them early," said Viator coach Chris Kirkpatrick. Senior QB Julian Sipiora (1,157 yards passing, 11 TDs; 680 rushing, 7 TDs), WR Richard McLoughlin (38 catches, 562 yards, 6 TDs), NT Connor Ptacin, LB Sean Conerty and crew look to get that done and then play the waiting game through late Saturday afternoon to see if they're in the 256-team field. Viator was even at 14-14 last week when playoff-bound Notre Dame scored 3 straight TDs to take control. "They're a good team and in our league if you play those people and make mistakes you're not going to win those games," Kirkpatrick said. "I thought we played OK and I can take a loss like that." St. Joseph won its opener 34-14 over Ridgewood but has scored only 28 points the last five weeks in what many insiders have said is its last season in the ESCC. Viator has won the last nine meetings and 35 of 38 since 1968.
