Strategies for successful job search to be discussed at workshop
Waubonsee Community College will host a "Brighter Futures" community event from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Best Western Timber Creek Inn and Suites and Convention Center, 3300 Drew Ave. in Sandwich. The event, which is free and open to the public, will provide resources and strategies for thriving in a challenging economy.
Presentations will be given on finding the right career, conducting a successful job search and maintaining financial health. One-on-one cover letter and resume assistance also will be available.
This event is part of Waubonsee's larger "Brighter Futures" initiative, which provides free services, courses and workshops to help district residents who are struggling in the current economy. Other "Brighter Futures" offerings this month include "Great First Impressions" from 7 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 21, as well as a job club workshop focusing on resumes and cover letters for career changers from 2 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 27. Both of these workshops will take place at the Sugar Grove Campus, Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive.
