Dalaard, Antioch serve up a winner

In a close second game, Antioch's Amber Dalaard came up with back-to-back aces to help propel the Sequois past Marengo in a nonconference girls volleyball match on Monday.

The Sequoits (17-12) won 25-22, 27-25 as Dalaard had a total of 3 aces and a game-high 14 digs.

Jessica Ploss had a team-high 6 kills for Antioch and teammate Lauren Grant had 5.

Ploss also had 2 blocks as did Brianna Grant. Antioch setter Kendall Padgett finished with 13 assists.

Lake Zurich d. Elk Grove: Lake Zurich moved to 23-6 overall with a 25-16, 25-11 victory over Elk Grove.

Jenn Grunden led the Bears with 10 kills while teammate Brittany Murawski tallied 8 and Amanda Orchard finished with 4 blocs.

Alexis Hartman and Monica Kloep had 11 and 8 assists respectively for Lake Zurich.

Palatine d. Stevenson: Stevenson started out strong with a win in the first game but fell flat in losing the match, 25-13, 24-26, 19-25.

Rachel Baader led the Patriots with 8 kills and 13 digs. Teammate Carlee Berland added 5 kills.

Setter Jenna Przybyla tallied 14 assists for Stevenson, which drops to 16-12.
