Conant (2-5, 1-2) at Palatine (6-1, 2-1)

Last week Conant lost to Fremd 31-14; Palatine d. Barrington 35-0

Outlook Palatine needs a win to go into next week's cross-town showdown at Fremd with a shot at repeating as MSL West champs. But first is a Conant team led by RB Kyle Klosowicz (1,243 yards, 13 TDs) which won last year's meeting to take an 18-13 series lead. "It doesn't matter what Conant's record is, they always get up for us," said Palatine coach Tyler Donnelly. "The present some huge problems for us and I don't think we're looking past Conant, especially after least year." Palatine is also coming off an inspired defensive effort where Joe Campe had 2 INTs and Tom Johlie and Jesse Bobbit each had one. The Pirates also get QB Cody Bobbit (883 yards, 9 TDs) back from a shoulder injury after two-plus solid games by Jim Smearman. "Our long-term goals are gone but that doesn't mean we shouldn't go out there play our butts off these last two games," said Conant coach Bill Modelski. "No matter what the stakes are you have to savor them all."
