Scouting Barrington @ Schaumburg

Barrington (2-5, 1-2) at Schaumburg (4-3, 2-1)

When 7:30 p.m. today at Gary Scholz Stadium

Last week Barrington lost to Palatine 35-0; Schaumburg d. Hoffman 30-12

Outlook Schaumburg can make the playoffs for the second straight year with a win against a Barrington team headed for its first losing season since 2001. But last week's tough test with Hoffman and Barrington's threats of QB Terrance Terry and RB Chase Murdock makes the Saxons realize this isn't an ordinary 2-5 team. "Terry and Murdock are both impressive and their offensive line is huge," said Schaumburg coach Mark Stilling. "I think our kids have a healthy balance in terms of appreciating their skill level." The Saxons' skill level is also high with QB Mark Iannotti (1,461 total yards, 11 TDs), WR Dionte Hackler (35 catches, 448 yards, 5 TDs) and RB Warren Brewer (532 yards, 12 TDs) behind a line with everyone in place in successive weeks. "We've had one of our best weeks of practice and hopefully it carries over (tonight)," said Barrington coach Joe Sanchez. "They have a lot of speed." Barrington has won the last seven meetings to lead the series 15-7.
