District 211 college night on Oct. 21

The 2009-2010 District 211 College Night program, "Tomorrow's Success," will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, from 7:00 until 9 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.) at Hoffman Estates High School (1100 W. Higgins Road in Hoffman Estates). Over 220 representatives from two- and four-year colleges and military academies will provide curriculum and campus information. College Night is open to all High School District 211 students and their parents.

"By attending College Night, students will discover additional colleges that meet characteristics important to them," said Hoffman Estates High School College & Career Consultant George Kazlusky. "Students should come prepared with questions about their own interests. Up to 20 of the most popular schools, including the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, Illinois State University, and Northwestern University will host three, 30-minute presentations in separate rooms. And, for the first time, an NCAA compliance officer from a Division I university will host two presentations, covering registration for the NCAA Clearinghouse, the eligibility process, and recruiting legalities."

Free, round-trip shuttle bus service will be provided from other District 211 schools to Hoffman Estates High School. Parents are asked to take advantage of the shuttle buses, since parking is limited at Hoffman Estates High School.
