When 7:30 p.m. today at Charles O. Feutz Field
Last week Fremd d. Schaumburg 38-13; Conant lost to Barrington 21-14
Outlook Fremd just keeps on rolling as it officially extended its MSL record streak of playoff trips to 15 and looks to close in on an MSL record seventh straight division title. "It's funny, when you look at them play and they're winning all their games, it's not like some years where they're really formidable everywhere," said Conant coach Bill Modelski. "But they're a solid team. Obviously (RB Evan) Wright (1,034 yards, 14 TDs) and the defense jump out at you. You look at the defense and you have a hard time picking out a standout but they play well together." Which is what Fremd coach Mike Donatucci has enjoyed as senior Tom Carmody has stepped in nicely in the secondary for Eric Shew, who could be back next week after breaking the tip of his pinkie finger at the end of the Rolling Meadows game. The latest challenge for the Vikings is stopping MSL rushing leader Kyle Klosowicz (1,166 yards, 13 TDs). "He's deceptively fast," Donatucci said. "It will be an interesting game. I'm sure they have some things up their sleeve." Fremd has won five straight in a series Conant leads 13-12.
