Antioch Twp. man jailed for probation violation
An Antioch Township man was sentenced to jail and had his felony probation extended for a year Monday because he stopped reporting to his probation officer.
Stefon Hunter, 29, pleaded guilty to aggravated battery to a police officer in September 2007, but admitted Monday he had not reported to his probation officer from August 2008 to October 2008.
Associate Judge George Bridges extended Hunter's probation to Sept. 10, 2010, and ordered him to spend 90 days in jail when not working.
Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Marykay Foy said Round Lake Beach police were called on May 12, 2007, because Hunter was standing on the side of Fairfield Road and spitting on cars.
As Lt. David Hare approached Hunter, Foy said, Hunter attacked the officer, punching him and spitting in his face.
Hare and other officers subdued Hunter, Foy said. He faced up to seven years in prison for the attack.
