Teens arrested for break-in at Cary-Grove High
Cary police Wednesday arrested a pair of teenagers they say are responsible for a weekend burglary at Cary-Grove High School, in which $106 was stolen from the school office.
Just before the final bell rang, police arrested the pair - Dustin James Clarke, 17, of the 0-100 block of Pine Circle in Cary and a 16-year-old boy, of unincorporated McHenry County - at the school.
Both have been charged with felony burglary to a school, felony criminal damage to property and misdemeanor theft, police say.
The burglary occurred Sunday and police wouldn't say how the duo entered the school.
But several surveillance cameras - mainly in the hallway - tracked the teens' every move during the burglary, ultimately obtaining footage that led to the teens' arrests, said Detective Jason Williamson.
Clarke is due to appear in bond court tomorrow morning in McHenry County.
The 16-year-old, meanwhile, has returned home and will go through the juvenile court system.
Burglary to a school, the most serious felony, that upon conviction, carries a prison sentence that ranges between four and 15 years.
