Northwest suburban fundraisers
Events that raise money for some type of charity, including galas, golf outings, rummage sales, shopping events, fashion shows, picnics and sport nights. Deadline is two weeks before event date.
Schaumburg Township food pantry: Help restock the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry by donating nonperishable items at Schaumburg Park District facilities. Suggested donations include canned fruit, vegetables, soup, dried beans, peanut butter, rice and boxed pasta. Collection bins will be available until Friday, Sept. 25, at Bock Neighborhood Center, 1223 W. Sharon Lane; Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Srpinginsguth Road; Jerry Handlon Administration Building, 235 E. Beech Drive; Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way; Schaumburg Golf Club, 401 N. Coupon books: The Sisterhood of Congregation Beth Judea is selling the 2010 edition of Entertainment Coupon Book. The cost for the Chicago North/Northwest Book is $20. For information, (847) 634-0777.
Football Mania tickets: The Elk Grove Village Lions Club is selling Football Mania tickets. Proceeds from Football Mania, the club's main fundraiser, are given to area charities, scholarships, eye glass programs and local food banks. When you present a Shop & Share identification slip at the time of purchase, Jewel-Osco will donate 5 percent of all purchases (including groceries, pharmacy, photo and liquor purchases), less tax, to the Congregation Beth Judea General Fund.

Pumpkin patch: The Prince of Peace United Methodist Church in Elk Grove Village will be hosting a Pumpkin Patch beginning Oct. 3 and continuing through Halloween. Everyone is invited to do their Halloween shopping by stopping by the church property at the corner of Devon Ave. and Arlington Heights Road. Colorful gourds will also be available for purchase to brighten your table and help bring warm feelings of autumn to your home.
