Burlington C. comes back to get past Kaneland

"Two different halves" is an old cliché, but it was certainly true Saturday as Burlington Central erased a 3-1 halftime deficit and downed Kaneland, 5-4, in the Burlington Central boys soccer tournament.

Erick Uribe scored the game-winner with a minute left, and Alexis Camarena had 2 goals and 2 assists to lead the Rockets (2-1 on the season).

Central trailed 4-2 after the Knights scored off a corner kick early in the second half, but goals by Camarena, Stephen Hall, and Uribe brought the Rockets back.

Central came out with a different attitude after intermission.

"We possessed it in their third of the field the whole second half, all 40 minutes basically," said Jonathan Klopcic, who assisted on Camarena's second goal

"We worked the ball up the midfield every time we scored," said Hall. "We stopped playing longball."

Bryce Warner got the Rockets on the board first, but Kaneland scored 3 times before intermission.

Cameron Ostrowski and Stephen Kaynish had assists for the Rockets. Alex Pieper made 4 saves in goal.

Streamwood 1, Wheaton North 1: The Sabres (1-1-1) continued play at the Lake Park Classic Saturday afternoon playing Wheaton North to a 1-1 draw. Rolando Moreno scored the Sabres' lone goal on an assist from Alex Perez.
