Events that raise money for some type of charity, including galas, golf outings, rummage sales, shopping events, fashion shows, picnics and sport nights. Deadline is two weeks before event date.
Aug. 7
Corey Diamond Memorial Fundraiser: 7-11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, Arlington Lanes, 3425 N. Kennicott, Arlington Heights. The $35 registration fee per person includes dinner, dessert, soda, open bowling all night and DJ services. There will also be a ventriloquist entertaining and raffle tickets available for purchase. Chick-n-Chop: Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, Immanuel United Church of Christ, 1500 Old Church Road, Streamwood. The church's annual Chick-n-Chop will feature an arts and crafts event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and a cookie walk at noon. Entertainment will be provided by the Banjo Buddies Dixieland Jazz Trio. The prices are, for a full meal: $12 in advance and $13 at the door; for half meal: $10 in advance and $11 at the door; and for hot dog meal: $4 in advance and $5 at the door. Putts for Pups: Check in 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, Poplar Creek Country Club, 1400 Poplar Creek Drive, Hoffman Estates. Chicagoland Dog Rescue's annual "Putts for Pups" golf event and dinner, raffle and silent auction to benefit homeless dogs. The cost it $65 for golf, $30 for dinner, or $90 for golf and dinner. Animal Rescue Fundraiser: Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2192 Cary Road, Algonquin. Fur Keeps Animal Rescue and No Splitting Hares Rabbit Rescue will host food and drink vendors, a 50/50 Raffle, a D.J., a silent auction, face-painting, and an adoption event. Golf outing: Unity Northwest's Second Annual Golf Outing will be Saturday, Aug. 29, at Rob Roy Golf Club, 505 E. Camp McDonald Road, Prospect Heights. Tee times begin at 11:50 a.m. Scramble format. Foursomes or individual golfers welcome. Dinner begins at 4:30 p.m. The cost is $65 for nine holes of golf, cart, dinner, and five raffle tickets; or if you're not a golfer, come to just the dinner and raffle. The cost is $25 for the dinner and 5 raffle tickets. Contributions of raffle items are welcome. Advertising is available in the form of hole sponsor, raffle items, or cash donations. Golf outing: The Men's Club of Congregation Beth Judea of Long Grove will host its 14th annual golf outing on Sunday, Aug. 30, at the Buffalo Grove Golf Club, 48 Raupp Blvd., Buffalo Grove. First tee off will be at 11:30 a.m. Back this year will be a Handicap Scramble (come as a foursome or the Men's Club will arrange one). In addition to 18 holes of golf with an electric cart, there will be a 7 p.m. dinner at Lou Malnati's in Buffalo Grove. Golfers, nongolfers and businesses can sponsor a hole for $100. The cost for golf and dinner is $95 per person; if you pay by July 30, the cost is $90. Golfers under 21 pay $85. Dinner only for adults is $20 and $5 for kids. Proceeds from the Memorial Golf Outing go directly to the Jack Rizman Memorial Fund.
