Circus coming to Rolling Meadows for charity event

The sight of trapeze artists performing death-defying stunts should do the trick. Or maybe the dancing woman maneuvering dozens of hula hoops. Or the three four-ton elephants balancing on tiny pedestals.

Whatever the act, thousands of jaws will drop when the Kelly Miller Circus comes to Rolling Meadows.

The Oklahoma-based show, which has been touring the country since 1938, will perform at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, and at 2 and 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, rain or shine.

Proceeds will be split evenly between the Palatine Township Elementary District 15 Educational Foundation and the Rolling Meadows Park District Foundation.

The one-ring circus offers 1,200 general admission seats for $12 each. Other acts feature tigers, jugglers, tightrope, horses and acrobatics.

All the fun will take place at the Rolling Meadows Park District Community Center grounds, 3705 Pheasant Drive.

To purchase tickets, stop by the Community Center or contact the District 15 foundation office at (847) 963-3160 or husst@ccsd15.net.
