AIDS care speech:

Jeanne White-Ginder will speak about the reauthorization of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Modernization Treatment Act at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Waubonsee Community College, Route 47 and Waubonsee Drive, Sugar Grove. Habitat ready to break ground:

DuPage Habitat for Humanity will break ground at 9 a.m. Wednesday on a $3 million neighborhood of affordable energy-efficient houses in West Chicago. DuPage Habitat, College of DuPage and ComEd are working together to build 11 houses near the intersection of Lyman and Brown streets.

'42nd Street' at Arcada:

Come and meet those dancing feet as Rising Star Theatreworks kicks off its sixth season with "42nd Street" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Arcada Theater, 105 E. Main St., St. Charles. It features high school and collegiate actors from Aurora, Batavia, Elburn, Geneva, St. Charles and Wayne. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Learn to be a lifeguard:

Teens 12 to 15 interested in lifeguarding are invited to participate in Raging Waves' new Junior Lifeguard training program in Yorkville. There are two sessions each in June, July and August. Sessions cost $39.99 and include five 90-minute classes, a T-shirt, whistle, lanyard, and completion certificate. Participants will learn lifeguarding and lifesaving basics. Donations for Rover Rescue:

Rover Rescue is looking for donations for its annual garage sale benefiting homeless dogs. The garage sale will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 31 and Aug. 1 at 326 Sharon Lane, North Aurora. Items needed for the sale include household goods, tools, sports equipment, kitchen utensils, glassware, toys, baby furniture, baskets, holiday decorations, small appliances, paperbacks and clothing.
