Schaumburg's Post Honeymoon to play the Hideout
The aptly named Chicago husband-and-wife group Post Honeymoon has an album-release show for its eponymous debut at Chicago's renowned Hideout this weekend. Schaumburg native Rachel Shindelman sings lead and plays keyboards, while her newlywed husband, Nick Kraska, bashes away on drums in a dark mix somewhere between the Kills and the Motels.

Teens do battle
Algonquin holds its Teen Battle of the Bands contest this weekend, with the victors advancing in the state competition toward the finals at the Illinois State Fair. Plain White T's and Fallout Boy got their starts this way.
