Keeping clean - the 1890s way

Learn how people kept clean in the 1890s, before indoor plumbing and modern bathing products were invented, during the "Bath Tubs and Toilet Water" program at Kline Creek Farm. Guests can view an old-time washing tub, shaving equipment, perfumes and toilet water. Learn the steps to prepare your own homemade beauty treatments including hair rinses made from herbs.

Tours run on the hour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 14, and Monday, June 15, and again from Thursday, June 18, through Monday, June 22, at Kline Creek Farm, 1N600 County Farm Road, Winfield. Free. No reservations required. (630) 933-7200 or dupageforest.com.

Find the gecko of your dreams

Geckos and bearded dragons are just a few of the reptiles that will be on display and available for sale at the Lake County Reptile Show. Specialty reptile food, cages and other supplies will also be available for purchase.

Watch the beds zipping by at Naper Days

The annual Naper Days celebration features musical entertainment, a baking competition, a petting zoo and costumed runners pushing beds in the bed races. The Taste of Naperville event offers everything from buffalo wings and pizza to fresh fruit juice and smoothies.
