St. Charles

• Jamie Michelle Paulette, 17, of the 3300 block of Campton Hills Road, was charged May 28 with retail theft, according to a police report. Store security at Meijer, 855 S. Randall Road, caught Paulette placing two packs of diet pills and a candle lighter in her purse and leave the store without paying for it.

• Brian Todd Page, 40, of the 900 block of Linda Court in South Elgin, was charged May 1 with writing 71 checks to at least seven different businesses without sufficient funds in his checking account to cover the costs, according to a police report.

• Robert Lewis Bauer, 46, with a St. Charles address not disclosed in a police department, was charged May 17 with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated assault and having an expired firearm owner's identification card. Police came to a bar in the 200 block of West Main Street on a report of a man with a gun. Police found Bauer being held down by two bouncers. Bar staff had asked Bauer to leave after refusing to serve him when it was apparent Bauer was intoxicated, according to the police report. Bauer began to struggle with bar staff and pulled a gun from the rear waistband of his pants. Bar employees tackled Bauer, causing him to drop the gun. Police said the gun was a loaded Western Derringer .22-caliber pistol. Bauer told police bar employees planted the gun at the scene.

• A softball bag with various bats, balls, cleats and baseball gloves was reported stolen from a Ford Taurus parked in Municipal Parking Lot G in the 200 block of Cedar Street May 31, according to police. The owner of the vehicle suspects he might have accidentally unlocked the trunk with a remote control.

• Brian Robert Eakings, 22, of the 200 block of North Fifth Avenue, was charged May 29 with disorderly conduct relating to repeated complaints about loud music coming from his residence, according to a police report.

Kane County

• Jonathan M. Humenski, 23, of the 1000 block of Pear Tree Lane, Wheeling, was charged with battery at 11:02 p.m. Friday after punching a security guard at Blackjack's Gentlemen's Club, 6N657 Route 25, St. Charles Township, police said. Humenski became violent when he was ordered to leave the strip club, according to a police report. Because he had already left by the time officers arrived, a warrant was issued for Humenski's arrest.

• A Blackberry, $80, sunglasses and a Garmin GPS unit valued at $1,125 total were reported stolen Thursday from a vehicle on the 5N200 block of Bluff Drive, St. Charles Township, according to police.

• A purse containing $300 was reported stolen Friday at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge on the 42W600 block of KaDeka Road, Sugar Grove Township.

• Business papers and jewelry were among $14,058 in items reported stolen Saturday from a residence on the 36W900 block of Ridgewood Drive, St. Charles Township.

• Steven J. Skaper, 21, of the 46W700 block of Locust Street, Kaneville, was arrested at 6:02 a.m. Sunday and charged with driving while license suspended, no insurance and failure to report a property damage accident after crashing a vehicle into a tree on the 46W800 block of Elm Street, Kaneville Township, police said. No one was hurt, but $100 in landscaping was destroyed, according to a police report.

• Clint M. Wood, 37, of the 1200 block of Meyer Street, Elgin, was arrested at 4:12 a.m. Sunday and charged with home invasion after entering a residence on the 9N000 block of Corron Road in Plato Township, and threatening two women, police said. Also charged, with criminal trespass to a residence, were Tammy L. Newbolds, 36, and David W. Samuel, 41, who live on the block where the incident occurred, police said.

• A Valentine One radar detector valued at $400 was reported stolen Monday from a vehicle on the 6N000 block of Willow Drive, St. Charles Township.

• An iPod, XM satellite radio and Shard LCD projector were among $2,840 in items reported stolen Thursday from a vehicle on the 300 block of Normandie Drive, Sugar Grove Township, according to police.

• A Canon camera, projector and laptop were among $3,150 in items reported stolen Thursday from a residence on the 13N300 block of Brindlewood Lane, Plato Township, according to police.

Batavia

• Graffiti was written in blue marker on the posts of a gazebo on the Riverwalk, 200 N. Island Ave., it was reported at 3:29 p.m. Sunday, according to police.

• A wallet containing several birth certificates, a Social Security card, identification, credit cards and $1,200 was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle May 29 in the 1200 block of E. Wilson Street, according to police.

• A wallet containing a driver's license, credit card, library card and $10 was stolen out of unlocked vehicle parked in a garage in the 900 block of Lund Lae, it was reported at 3:02 p.m. Saturday, police said.

• Someone damaged ventilation louvers on a sanitary sewer lift station by throwing large pieces of limestone at them, it was reported at 8:55 a.m. June 3. The station is in the 1100 block of McClurg.

• Someone broke into a restroom building, damaged an access hatch to the utility room, and wrote or painted graffiti on skateboard ramps at the Batavia Skate Park, 411 S. River St., it was reported at 9:06 a.m. June 3, according to a police report.

• Brian M. Umphrey, 19, of the 6400 block of East Napier Avenue, Benton Harbor, Mich., was charged June 3 with unlawful use of a credit card and soliciting without a city permit in the 100 block of North Washington Street, according to police. A companion, Cassey D. Keith, 19, of the 0-100 block of Marquette Drive, Rapid City, S.D., was given a ticket for soliciting without a city permit.

Geneva

• Joseph M. Nathan, 20, of 2271/2 N. First St., was charged with possession of cannabis (1.5 grams) and possession of drug paraphernalia (a glass pipe and an electronic scale) at 1:23 p.m. Thursday in the 900 block of West State Street, according to police. Police found some of the drugs in a phony soda can designed for hiding items. Nathan was also arrested on an outstanding post-sentencing warrant from Kane County relating to a July 2007 forgery case.

• Brandon T. Hampel, 26, of the 1000 block of Geneva Drive, was charged with disorderly conduct at 8:45 a.m. Friday, police said. He is accused of forcing open a locked door during an argument with a person in the 1000 block of Geneva Drive.

• Michael J. Howard, 21, of 1345 Dunham Court, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication at 2:47 a.m. June 2 at Chesapeake Way and Windsor Court, according to a police report. Police found Howard asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle.

• Donnelle L. McKinley, 30, of the 4700 block of St. Joseph Creek, Lisle, was charged with retail theft at 5:42 p.m. May 30, according to police. He is accused of stealing five bottles of vodka from Dominick's, 2000 S. Randall Road.

• A man was charged with felony harassment by telephone, as a result of becoming upset about not being invited to a young woman's Geneva High School graduation ceremony, according to a police report. Police said Alan W. Knackstedt, 50, of the 3100 block of Fairway Drive, McHenry, left a phone message at the woman's house, saying he would break the nose of a 39-year-old woman who lives with the teenager if the woman tried to stop him from entering the ceremony. He also threatened to kill them.

• Eight people were charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor, around 11 p.m. May 30 at a house in the 2200 block of Lorraine Circle, according to a police report. They are Christiana Joy Adekun, 18, of the 400 block of Lakeview Drive, Aurora; Garrett Grinnell, 18, of the 0N900 block of Kelley Lane, Geneva; Andrea L. Colton, 19, of the 400 block of Offutt Lane, North Aurora; Zachary Andrew Kammerer, 17, of the 1500 block of Fargo Boulevard, Geneva; Casey A. Scott, 18, of the 200 block of Mill Drive, Batavia; Robert J. Francis, 18, and Scott Myles Francis, 17, both of the 2700 block of Chatham Court, Geneva; and John Martinez, 17, of the 2200 block of Lorraine Circle, Geneva. Martinez was also charged with obstructing a peace officer, resisting arrest and illegal possession of tobacco products.

North Aurora

• Douglas L. White, 17, of the 400 block of Assembly Drive, Bolingbrook, was charged with battery, at 10 a.m. June 3 at Fox Valley Technical and Trade Center, 195 Poplar Place, according to a police report.

• Jesus Gallardo, 35, of the 500 block of Fourth Avenue, Aurora, was charged June 1 with forgery, unlawful possession of a fraudulent identification card and identity theft, according to a police report. According to court documents, Gallardo used a California man's identity to fill out a job application at Aurora Packing Co., 125 S. Grant St., North Aurora. He used false information on a job application at the plant in 2005, and had a fake Social Security card.

• Vadii L. Ellis, 51, of the 5000 block of Route 34, Oswego, was charged May 28 with two counts of deceptive practice, according to police. He is accused of writing seven bad checks, knowing there wasn't enough money in the account, from Dec. 24, 2007 to Jan. 5, 2008, and another bad check on May 27, all to Woodman's Market, 151 Hansen Blvd. The checks totaled $356.75.

• Daniel L. Olivan, 17, of the 1000 block of Autumn Lane, Aurora, was charged May 28 with criminal sexual abuse of a person at least 13 but younger than 17, according to a police report. He was also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
