Antioch Spring Clean and Green Day:

The Village of Antioch will be holding its 2nd Annual Spring Clean and Green Day on Saturday, May 30. The day starts at 9 a.m. with picking up trash in the downtown area until about noon, organizers say. People will be meeting at the bandshell at 900 Skidmore Drive. There will be lunch provided for anyone who helps pick up garbage. The afternoon will feature presentations and demonstrations of tips on conservation, recycling and more. There are door prizes, too. Fremont board appoints administrators:

Fremont School District 79 in Mundelein hired two new administrators last week, effective July 1. Rebecca Dahn accepted the position as principal at Fremont Intermediate School, and Stefan Ladenburger will be the assistant principal at Fremont Middle School. Dahn is currently the principal of John Stewart Elementary School in Maple Park, but she also has a strong background in special education. Ladenburger is currently the assistant principal at Charles Quentin Elementary School in Lake Zurich. Ladenburger will replace Darin Meyer and Dahn will replace Patricia Reynolds, both of whom resigned to pursue other career opportunities.

Forest board to meet:

The Lake County Forest Preserve District board will meet Thursday, May 28, to approve a budget for the 2010 fiscal year and discuss other business. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at the county government center, 18 N. County St., Waukegan.
