Prairie Arts Festival

Visit the Prairie Arts Festival, a fine arts show and sale with works by more than 150 artists. See works of glass, fiber, sculpture, jewelry, photography and paintings. Entertainment, a children's activity tent and food are part of the fun.

Everyone is Greek at this festival!

St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church of Aurora hosts its annual Flavors of Greece Festival at the Kane County Fairgrounds. This indoor celebration features Greek music, food and dancing. Sample Greek fare with everything from gyros to sweet pastries, such as baklava. Step on the dance floor and learn some Greek folk dances. Youngsters can climb the play area's climbing wall.

They look so real

"Dinosaurs Alive!" is a Brookfield Zoo's temporary, interactive and multisensory exhibit. See and touch 18 life-size replicas of prehistoric animatronic creatures that make a variety of sounds. The exhibit is adjacent to the Children's Zoo area.

When 'Iris' eyes are smiling

The North Shore Iris and Day lily Society Iris Show and Sale, features more than 10 artistic arrangements and 75 irises in bloom. Irises and day lilies are also available for sale.

Jaycees host their annual carnival

Come by the Mount Prospect Jaycees Memorial Day Carnival for food, carnival rides and entertainment.
