Expect traffic delays near forest preserve
Beginning today and running through mid-August, traffic on Buckley Road in front of Independence Grove Forest Preserve in Libertyville will be reduced to one lane in each direction as the Illinois Department of Transportation works on the bridge over the Des Plaines River. Visitors to the preserve may need to allow extra drive time to and from the preserve.
The Des Plaines River Trail will remain open during the bridge work. A minor detour will route trail users around the construction zone.
The IDOT Web site encourages drivers to use extreme caution when driving through construction areas and requests they slow down and watch for workers.
