District 158 seats new and returning board members

The Huntley Unit District 158 school board welcomed back three incumbents and seated two new members last week.

Incumbents Shawn Green, Kim Skaja and Mike Skala were sworn in on Thursday along with newcomers Don Drzal and Paul Troy.

Green, Skaja, Drzal and Troy were all uncontested in their bids for a 4-year term on the board.

Larry Snow was the only board member not re-elected last month, because he was running against Skala for a 2-year term.

The new board also selected its officers for the next two years, returning Green as board president and Skaja as board secretary. Kevin Gentry will take over as vice president for departing board member Tony Quagliano.
