Woodstock man guilty of fondling teen

A 39-year-old former McHenry man could be sentenced to seven years behind bars after being found guilty of fondling a teen girl at a New Year's Eve party.

Keith Tipton, of 824 Washington St. in Woodstock, was found guilty by a jury Wednesday for aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a class 2 felony. He also could be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life during his sentencing scheduled for June 5, authorities said.

Authorities charged Tipton for allegedly whispering suggestive comments and fondling the then-15-year-old girl during a party in his basement on Dec. 31, 2007, authorities said.
