Naperville C. stays ahead of Palatine; Cary-Grove, G'brook S. win
Palatine gave up 5 runs in the first inning and 4 in the second before rallying with 3 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning in an 11-8 nonconference loss to Naperville Central on Tuesday.
Trey Cannon and Andy Prombo had doubles for Palatine (3-5), which committed 7 errors for the second straight game.
Cary-Grove 10, Conant 0: Corey Bruns hit a solo homer and earned the pitching victory by holding host Conant (6-2) to 3 hits as the Trojans rolled to a nonconference win. Cary-Grove had 12 hits and took advantage of 4 Conant errors.
Glenbrook South 16, Wheeling 2: The host Titans plated 9 runs in the fifth inning to finish off Wheeling early in nonconference play. Bobby Beelen homered for the Wildcats (1-7).
