Rotter back as Blackberry assessor
Blackberry Township Assessor Uwe Rotter was re-elected to a four-year term Tuesday over his challenger, Deputy Assessor Bonnie Wilcox, unofficial results show. With all six precincts reporting, Rotter captured 799 votes, or 58 percent of the total, to Wilcox's 497 votes. Rotter, of Elburn, has been assessor for two years and campaigned on a pledge to educate the public about the office and how property assessments can be lowered. Wilcox, 50, also of Elburn, said she would reduce assessments to match the declining economy. Rotter, 52, is a volunteer firefighter and vice president of the Elburn Lions Club.
