Herald's endorsement of Carlson 'appalling'
I am appalled that the Herald would endorse Nancy Carlson for a third term as District 15 school board member. I am at a loss to understand just what the Daily Herald is looking for in a "qualified" candidate. If you are looking for board members with "dedication" you won't find one in Carlson, who only attends 60 percent of the board meetings.
If you are looking for board members who are willing to communicate with the people of Palatine Township, you won't find one in Carlson - the only candidate in the race who does not have a Web site.
Carlson was the only candidate who failed to respond to the Daily Herald questionnaire, depriving voters of an opportunity to compare her positions on the issues with those held by the other candidates. I can only assume that she actually appeared for the Herald editorial board interview, otherwise I don't see how you would know what her positions are on any of the issues.
Perhaps you could share this information with us, the taxpaying public? She did not come to the Pleasant Hill School PTA meeting on March 17 when all of the other candidates appeared to briefly introduce themselves, and she was the only candidate who did not appear at the forum at Palatine High School on March 19.
