Leafblad admits error:

Former Lake County Board member Larry Leafblad on Wednesday admitted one of the cornerstones of his recent lawsuit against Avon Township's assessor is incorrect, but he's moving ahead with the suit anyway. Leafblad, of the Grayslake area, alleges in his civil complaint that Assessor Rick Dishman was wrongly reimbursed with township funds for trips he took to a St. Louis casino to collect playing cards to be handed out at the annual Lake County Seniors Day event. Leafblad, who for years has been associated with the event, said in the court filing he'd never seen the cards. Dishman, however, has produced photographs of himself handing out the decks. When asked about the photos Wednesday, Leafblad admitted his error but said he had no plans to amend the lawsuit. Dishman, who is up for re-election next week and has said Leafblad's lawsuit was a political stunt, has filed a motion to dismiss.
