Kane Co. teen charged in body dump arrested again

A man charged with helping dump an Elburn teen's body after a suspected heroin overdose was arrested again Thursday on drug charges.

Jordan D. Billek, 18, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic syringe, police said.

Billek was pulled over at 1:19 a.m. after running a stop sign near Ohio and Rural streets in Aurora, Lt. Paul Nelson said. Police searched his car and discovered a cotton ball containing an opiate and a hypodermic syringe in a driver's-side door compartment, Nelson said.

In January, Billek and two others were indicted on obstructing justice charges in the December 2007 death of Michael York, 17, of Elburn.

The three are accused of leaving York's body in a Chicago alley after a night of hard drug use in St. Charles, where York appeared to have overdosed on heroin. His cause of death is undetermined.

Authorities initially said Billek lived in Maple Park, but his address is also listed in West Chicago and Aurora in recent court filings.

If convicted of obstructing justice, Billek faces one to three years in prison or probation, which is the same sentencing range for a felony count of possession of a controlled substance. Needle possession is a misdemeanor.

Billek's attorney did not immediately return a call seeking comment Thursday. Billek has not yet entered a plea in the obstructing justice case, which goes before Kane County Judge Allen M. Anderson April 23. His first appearance on the new case is April 7.

Billek was free on a $2,000 bond at the time of his arrest Thursday; he must post $3,000 to be freed on the new charge.

His co-defendants in the York case are Lindsey Parker, 23, of St. Charles, and Nathan L. Green, 22, of Maple Park. Green, who is accused of shooting up York and orchestrating the disposal of his body, has pleaded not guilty and must post $10,000 to be freed from the county jail; a request that amount lowered by a judge is pending.

Parker, who has not entered a plea, remains free after posting $500.
