Aurora robbery suspect makes off with money and teller's car

Police are searching for a silver, 2000 Chevy Malibu stolen during an armed robbery Tuesday at an Aurora check-cashing store.

Aurora police say a stocky black man, standing about 5 feet 9 inches, entered the Check-N-Go at 1276 North Lake St. with a sawed-off shotgun at 12:35 p.m. and demanded money and the teller's car keys.

The car has an Illinois license plate of 9164678. It also has a spoiler on the rear along with a Chicago Cubs emblem. The suspect was wearing blue jeans with red and blue stitching and white sneakers with a green stripe.

He was last seen driving west and then north through the parking lot of the strip mall where the business is located. There were no injuries.

Callers to Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
