Learn about road plan
You can participate in a live, online chat about the long-proposed extension of Route 53 through Lake County on Tuesday, March 24. The chat begins at 11 a.m. at lakecountyil.gov. It'll also be viewable on LCTV, the county cable channel. You can email questions to route53questions@lakecountyil.gov. Panelists will respond to as many questions as possible. A nonbinding question on April 7 ballots will ask Lake County residents if they think the highway should be extended north from Lake-Cook Road, as has been planned for decades.
