Arlington Heights

• Burglars broke a large window and ransacked at Hoffman Homes, 320 W. Northwest Hwy., between 6 p.m. March 3 and 7:10 a.m. March 4. Offenders tossed around a computer and monitor, pictures, phone, papers, and architectural drawings and poured liquid on a computer keyboard. A CD player and two bottles of wine were missing.

•Vandals spray painted a mural on a concrete wall in a tunnel on the southeast side of the basin at Sunset Meadows Park, 752 S. Dwyer Ave., between Feb. 27 and March 3.

• Vandals spray painted graffiti on an exterior wall at Forest View Fitness Club, 800 E. Falcon Drive sometime in the last three months.

• Burglars broke into a 2005 Toyota Corolla in a business lot at 200 W. Rand Road between 7:15 and 8:50 p.m. March 5 and stole a GPS unit and tape recorder. Value was estimated at $220.

Mount Prospect

•Yeni Venegas-Apaez, 30, of the 1500 block of East Silver Strand Circle, Palatine, and Lorenzo Diaz, 20, of the 2100 block of Ginger, Palatine, were arrested around 4 p.m. March 4 at Carson Pirie Scott, 999 N. Elmhurst Road, and charged with retail theft. Reports say they took a belt and necklace valued at $105. Their court date is April 15.

• Thieves did $200 in damage to the coin box on a dryer in a laundry room at an apartment building on the 1700 block of Chariot Court between 8 p.m. March 3 and 11 a.m. March 4 but did not get any money.

• Burglars pried open a kitchen door at a home on the 1400 block of Columbine between 11 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. March 4 and stole a wooden jewelry box with 40-50 necklaces valued at $600.

Prospect Heights

• Bobby Kee, 34, of the 600 block of Piper Lane, Prospect Heights, was arrested around 4 a.m. March 5 in a restaurant lot at 698 N. Milwaukee Ave., and charged with felony burglary from motor vehicle. Reports say a witness saw him take a duffel bag filled with items out of a vehicle belonging to the witness's co-worker. Restaurant employees detained Kee until officers arrived. His court date is April 1.

• Burglars broke into a 1999 Honda Accord on the 1400 block of South Wolf Road overnight March 4-5 and stole a GPS unit.

Hoffman Estates

•Jeremy K. Alexander, 18, of the 1500 block of Meyer Street, Elgin, was arrested around 10:15 p.m. Feb. 26 in a hotel parking lot at 2500 Hassell Road and charged with possession of marijuana. His court date is March 13.

• Burglars stole 48 drinking glasses valued at $100 out of a shed attached to Chili's restaurant on the 2200 block of North Barrington Road between 6 p.m. March 2 and 7 a.m. March 3.

Palatine

• Burglars broke into a 1997 GMC Jimmy in an apartment lot on the 1900 block of North Cambridge Drive between 7 p.m. March 3 and 9 a.m. March 4 and stole a DVD player and 20 CDs. Value was estimated at $550.

• Thieves stole both headlight assemblies from a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix in an apartment lot near Dundee Quarter and Baldwin Road between 1 p.m. March 2 and 1:10 p.m. March 4.

• Thieves stole a cell phone valued at $200 out of a backpack after a woman left it on the Metra train at the Palatine station, 137 W. Wood St., around 4:30 p.m. March 2.

• Thieves stole an aluminum wheelchair ramp valued at $470 from an apartment patio on the 1300 block of North Geneva Drive between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. March 5.

• Burglars broke into a 1997 BMW 318I in a fitness center lot at 1546 E. Dundee Road between 6:25 and 7:35 p.m. March 4 and stole a GPS unit, radar detector and stereo faceplate. Loss was estimated at $680.

Schaumburg

• Everett Lewis Craig, 46, of the 700 block of Killarney Court, Schaumburg, was arrested around 1:15 p.m. March 2 at Target, 2621 W. Schaumburg Road, and charged with retail theft. His court date is March 23.

• Paco Rivera, 18, of the 5500 block of Astor Lane, Rolling Meadows, was arrested around 4:30 p.m. March 1 at J.C. Penney in Woodfield Mall and charged with retail theft. His court date is March 19.

• Burglars broke into a 2006 Toyota Highlander on the 400 block of Verde Drive between 1:30 and 10:06 p.m. March 1 and stole a GPS unit. Loss was estimated at $540.

• Burglars stole a GPS unit and two digital cameras out of an unlocked 2008 Ford truck on the 2700 block of Holmes Way between 10 p.m. Feb. 28 and 7 a.m. March 1. Value was estimated at $720.

• Burglars broke into a 2001 Ford van and 2006 Nissan Altima between 11 and 11:30 a.m. March 2 in a health club lot on the 900 block of East Higgins Road and stole a purse out of the Ford and a watch, checkbooks, and computer ZIP drives out of the Nissan. Loss was estimated at $1,100.

• Burglars broke into a 2008 Chevrolet Impala on the 1900 block of East Higgins Road between 12:30 and 2 p.m. March 3 and stole a laptop computer and briefcase. Loss was estimated at $2,200.
