Committee leader chosen

David A. Northern, executive director of the Lake County Housing Authority, has been appointed by the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials to chair a nationwide committee charged with encouraging young professionals and leaders to become more involved in the affordable housing industry. Northern, a Round Lake resident, was lauded in 2004 as one of Ebony magazine's "30 Leaders Who Are 30 and Under." He said he wants to reach out to students in high school and college and urge them to consider working in the affordable housing field.
