Hoffman's Duenas to run for EIU

Hoffman Estates girls track and cross country standout Gaby Duenas has signed a letter of intent to run on scholarship at Eastern Illinois.

Duenas is the team captain for Hoffman head cross country coach and track distance coach Kirk Macnider.

She has qualified for state in the 3,200-meter relay and 1,600, holds the school's indoor 3,200 record and was part of the school record-setting indoor and outdoor 3,200 relay.

Duenas also earned two-time all-Mid-Suburban League honors in cross country.
