Arlington Heights

• Burglars stole the I-Pass transponder out of an unlocked 1985 Ford truck at Noff's Moving, 1735 E. Davis St., between 3 p.m. Feb. 14 and 8 a.m. Feb. 16.

• Burglars broke into a 1996 Nissan Sentra in an apartment lot on the 1400 block of East Central Road between 6:30 p.m. Feb. 16 and 8:15 a.m. Feb. 17 and tried but failed to remove the in-dash stereo.

• Burglars broke into a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero in an apartment lot on the 1500 block of East Central Road between 8:45 p.m. Feb. 17 and 7:10 a.m. Feb. 18 and stole 40-50 CDs valued between $400 and $500. Burglars also stole a set of golf clubs and golf shoes out of an unlocked 2004 Volkswagen Jetta. Value was estimated at $500.

• Burglars hurled a cement block through windows on the outer and inner front doors to gain entry to an office building on the 3500 block of West Salt Creek Lane around 6:30 a.m. Feb. 17, setting off an alarm. The offenders broke a cable lock and stole a laptop computer valued at $1,100 from the top of a desk.

• Burglars broke into a 2007 Land Rover on the third level of a parking garage at 55 S. Vail Ave. around 6:20 a.m. Feb. 18.

Buffalo Grove

• Thieves stole a mailbox valued at $30 attached to an exterior wall at a medical office at 754 S. Buffalo Grove Road between 5 p.m. Feb. 18 and 10 a.m. Feb. 19.

• Vandals shot BB-gun pellets that broke a window at Sullivans Law Directory, 1360 Abbott Court, between 5:30 p.m. Feb. 18 and 8:30 a.m. Feb. 19.

Mount Prospect

• Vandals used black paint to write gang graffiti on a Dumpster fence in an apartment complex on the 1400 block of Cottonwood Lane between Feb. 13 and 15.

• Vandals scratched the hood on a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee at a home on the 0-100 block of North Main Street between 9:15 a.m. and 5:44 p.m. Feb. 16. Damage was estimated at $200.

• Vandals broke the storm window at an apartment bedroom on the 1900 block of West Algonquin Road between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Feb. 16. Damage was estimated at $150.

• Burglars broke into a 2004 Honda Pilot in an apartment lot on the 1700 block of Algonquin Road between 9 p.m. Feb. 12 and 7 a.m. Feb. 13 and stole a GPS/CD/DVD player. Loss was estimated at $350.

• Burglars stole a GPS unit valued at $150 out of an unlocked 2004 Nissan Pathfinder on the 1700 block of East Euclid Avenue between 10:30 p.m. Feb. 12 and noon Feb. 13.

• Jorge R. Ojeda, 18, and Juan Olvera, 18, both of the 1900 block of West Algonquin Road, were arrested around 12:50 a.m. Feb. 17 walking with bottles of beer in their apartment building parking lot and charged with local ordinance consumption of alcohol by a minor. Their court date is March 10.

• Michael D. Hart, 22, of the 9200 block of Doel Avenue, Des Plaines, was arrested around 11:10 a.m. Feb. 13 at Lincoln and Wille streets and charged with local ordinance possession of marijuana. His court date is March 4.

• Javier Carreon, 31, of the 1900 block of West Algonquin Road, Mount Prospect, was arrested around 4:50 a.m. Feb. 15 on the 2000 block of West Algonquin Road and charged with resisting a peace officer and driving under the influence. His court date is March 24.

Wheeling

• Vandals smashed a driver's-side window and passenger's-side headlight on a 1996 Ford Econoline van on the 300 block of Second Street between 8 p.m. Feb. 18 and 5:55 a.m. Feb. 19. Damage was estimated at $300.

Hoffman Estates

• Regina Nicole Harris, 24, of the 1500 block of Kenneth Circle, Elgin, was arrested around 11:15 a.m. Feb. 18 at Target, 2800 N. Sutton Road, and charged with retail theft. Reports said employee Harris fraudulently used customer receipts 31 times between Jan. 15 and Feb. 17 to put money on Target gift cards; total value was estimated at $846. Her court date is April 6.

• Kenlee N. Funk, 36, of the 100 block of West Woodstock, Crystal Lake, was arrested around 12:40 p.m. Feb. 18 at Walgreens, 1000 N. Roselle Road, and charged with attempted unlawful acquisition of a controlled substance. Reports said she tried to purchase a pain medication with a prescription that did not belong to her. A court date is March 30.

• Vandals shot BB-gun pellets through two double-pane windows at a development on the 2300 block of Hassell Road. Damage was estimated at $1,600.

• Burglars broke a foyer window at a home on the 1900 block of Blackberry Lane between 10:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Feb. 18 and stole a digital camera and camcorder. Damage was estimated at $200.

Schaumburg

• Thieves stole a wallet from a female customer in a store on the 1100 block of South Roselle Road between 3:30 and 4 p.m. Feb. 16. A woman distracted the victim by asking her questions about the salt content in certain foods. Someone used two credit cards in the wallet; loss was estimated at $919.

• A burglar climbed through an unlocked window at a home on the 900 block of South Salem Drive around 9:15 p.m. Feb. 17 but set off a motion sensor alarm and fled through the same window without taking anything.

• Thieves stole a cell phone valued at $500 from a woman who placed it on a checkout counter in Woodfield Mall around 8 p.m. Feb. 17.
