Fire damages Hinsdale house
Hinsdale firefighters still are probing the cause of a blaze that caused roughly $125,000 damage Thursday to a house at 218 E. Walnut St. in the village's northeast side. Firefighters said they were called about 8:30 p.m. by a neighbor who reported seeing flames inside the residence. When crews arrived they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the home's front. The fire was brought under control about an hour later with help from 10 neighboring departments. No injuries were reported but the house was extensively damaged. Firefighters said they believe the cause of the blaze was accidental.
