Dist. 207 board delays decision on accused Maine East official

The Maine Township High School District 207 school board reviewed the matter of a Maine East assistant principal charged with misdemeanor public indecency, but delayed deciding what action, if any, to take against him.

Michael Pressler, 48, of the 1700 block of North Halsted Street, will be assigned to work at the district office in Park Ridge pending board review of the status of the charges after his first court date on Feb. 6, board president Joann Braam said Tuesday in a prepared news release.

Pressler has been assigned to work out of his house since he was arrested Dec. 29 without incident about 5:45 p.m. at a lakefront park on North Simonds Drive in Chicago, police said. Darren Stephens, 45, of the 1400 block of West Leland Avenue in Chicago was arrested also.
