Arlington Heights

• A 2003 Toyota Celica on the 1100 block of South Old Wilke Road was broken into and ransacked between midnight and 2:30 a.m. Jan. 6; a damage estimate was not available.

• Jason K. Moon, 21, of the 600 block of Cherrywood Drive, Wheeling, was arrested around 9:50 a.m. Jan. 4 on Palatine Road at Kennicott and charged with traffic violations and possession of marijuana. His court date is Jan. 22.

Barrington

• Vandals shot BB-gun pellets at Health World, 1301 S. Grove Ave., between Dec. 19-Jan. 5 that broke six double pane windows, a 6 x 4-foot window, and two glass veneers. A damage estimate was not available.

• Burglars broke into Nails etc., 455 W. Northwest Hwy., between 6 p.m. Jan. 3 and 11:05 a.m. Jan. 4 by smashing the front glass door, and stole a cash drawer with $10. Total loss, including damage, was estimated at $460.

• A thief stole the snowplow off a 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck in a parking lot at Makray Memorial Golf Course, 1010 S. Route 14, around 1:35 a.m. Jan. 3; loss was estimated at $3,700.

Des Plaines

• A 1998 Nissan Maxima on the 0-100 block of West Bradley was vandalized between 5-10:30 p.m. Jan. 5; damage was estimated at $150.

• Muhammed Arif, 24, of the 100 block of Clifton Lane, Bolingbrook, was arrested around 11:45 p.m. Jan. 5 on the 2600 block of West Dempster Street in Park Ridge and charged with possession of marijuana and a traffic violation. His court date is Jan. 23.

Mount Prospect

• Someone broke into a 2007 Mazda 3 coupe on the 0-100 block of North Ridge Avenue overnight Jan. 4-5 and stole a GPS unit and MP3 player. Total loss was estimated at $1,350.

• A 1999 Ford Expedition on the 600 block of Greenwood Drive was broken into overnight Jan. 4-5; an MP3 player, DVD player and movie were stolen. Total loss was estimated at $610.

Palatine

• A man was seen on a security videotape stealing 16 tools valued at $313 from Ace Hardware, 239 E. Northwest Hwy., between Dec. 26-30. He hid them in his jacket and in a basket; he paid for two items but not the 16 tools and left in a white sedan.

• A $300 MP3 player was stolen out of a 2002 Chevrolet Impala in a lot on the 1500 block of North Rand Road between 8:37-8:47 p.m. Jan. 4.

• A 1999 Chrysler Sebring and a 1998 Ford Ranger pickup truck in a lot on the 1300 block of North Rand Road were broken into between 11:48 a.m.-12:48 p.m. Jan. 4. A $150 GPS was taken out of the Sebring; nothing appeared missing out of the truck.

• Someone at a party on the 1300 block of West Windhill Drive between 8 p.m. Jan. 2 and 2 a.m. Jan. 3 stole $166 in prescription medicine.

• Vandals rammed a metal pole through a trailer window at Palatine Hills Golf Course, 512 W. Northwest Hwy., Jan. 4; damage to the window and blinds was estimated at $330.

• Someone stole an electric meter off a wall outside a home on the 400 block of East Palatine Road between 2:50-2:55 p.m. Jan. 4.

• Vandals shot BB-gun pellets that smashed windows on a 1995 Dodge Intrepid, 1995 Buick Skylark and 1997 Ford pickup truck in an apartment lot on the 300 block of North Baldwin Court between 9 p.m. Jan. 2 and 9:15 a.m. Jan. 3. Damage estimates were not available.

Rolling Meadows

• Someone forced open a window screen at an apartment on the 4700 block of Arbor Drive between 11:30 a.m. Jan. 1 and 5 p.m. Jan. 2; it was not clear if anything was missing.

• Tiffany M. McQuiston, 27, of the 400 block of Landmeier Road, Elk Grove Village, and Julie Lieder, 25, of the 9200 block of Aspen, Des Plaines, both employees of Meijer, 1301 Meijer Drive, were arrested Jan. 3 and charged with retail theft from Meijer. Their court date is Feb. 18.

• A 2005 Hummer H2 on the 5400 block of Astor Lane was broken into between 8 p.m. Jan. 2 and 2:15 p.m. Jan. 3; a speaker box was stolen. Total loss was estimated at $1,900.

Schaumburg

• Louis A. Garcia, 38, of the 100 block of North San Joaquin, San Antonio, TX, and Larry F. Rosales, 25, of the 600 block of Brunswick, San Antonio, TX, were arrested around 12:20 a.m. Jan. 4 at a pub on the 0-100 block of South Roselle Road and charged with battery. Their court date is Feb. 19.

• Ruta Mickeviciute, 17, of the 1200 block of East Long Valley Drive, Palatine, was arrested Jan. 4 and charged with retail theft from Republic of Couture in Woodfield Mall. Her court date is Feb. 2.
